During World War 2, the people all
needed a leader to look up to. With all the turmoil and destruction that was
happening uniquely to each country that was involved, hope and faith to go
through the war was needed to keep the people going. So, that is what
Churchill, Hirohito, and Goebbels gave to the people. He gave them exactly what
they wanted. With all these speakers, besides giving the inspirational and
heart moving feelings through their speeches, they also told the people it was
their duty or fate to go through with whatever plan they had set up to win or
just get through the war. All these speakers have different situations and
people to deal with but they all speak of their country having a responsibility
that they must endure.
Hirohito tells his people that “it
is according to the dictates of time and fate that we have resolved to pave the
way for a grand peace”. He is inclining that it is the duty of the people to
back down and surrender to the other nations because it was their destiny for
it to be this way. He is giving the people reason to follow behind him in this
decision by telling them that it is their “time and fate” to show the other
nations that they are more than fighting and bring in peace. Goebbels does this
as well to let the people follow him by giving them this great responsibility.
Throughout his speech, he indirectly tells the people how they are the only
hope for Europe. “Only the German Reich and its allies are in the position to
resist this danger.” He is making the people feel that they need to do this or
they are destroying Europe and taking away the only hope it has. Churchill doesn’t
bluntly tell the people that it is their fate or that they are the only country
capable of helping all the other countries as Hirohito and Goebbels does but he
does hint to the people that they need to win. By Churchill saying, “You ask,
what is our policy?” this hints that the people have a responsibility that they
must follow through with. They have to follow the policy that Churchill tells
them so that they can win and bring their countries and many others back to the
way they need to be—out of the war.
All these speakers include their
people by giving them a duty or telling them it is their fate. By doing this,
it leads the people to want to follow their leaders even more and to bring
their countries out of the turmoil and terror they are experiencing. It is a
way for the leaders to keep the people motivated and ready for any challenges
that may come.
I loved your ideas surrounding the blog! Your point was straight to the point. I just think you should make your introduction consise. It's wordy and kind of takes away from what you're going to talk about. You don't have to elaborate like an essay Nia!!! Add some flavor to make it more interesting. As for your body paragraph try to steer away from a lot of quotes. They over dominate your views. It worked in this blog to some extent. You had a consise conclusion. Overall this blog was great.
