Once A Bully: Program for Bullies
- Claim: There should be a program for the bully to help them out of bullying others.
- Warrant: Bullies pick on others to make themselves feel better.
- Reason: Bullies have internal problems that causes them to bully others.
- Qualifier: Most bullies bully because they have power, family, or social issues that they try to handle on their own through bullying.
- Rebuttal: We shouldn't focus on the bully but instead focus on who they are bullying. The bullies aren't the one killing themselves but the victims. If we begin to focus on the bully, we lose track of those who are being bullied. Also, bullies won't want any help. They will still bully even after going through a program.
- Backing: If typed, "Why do people bully," on Google, almost all websites will say that the bully has some sort of internal problem that is causing them to bully. Catherine Bradshaw, a psychologist, said that must bullies want a sense of power and to keep their social groups closer and let out others. Research shows that an average or above average of bullies bully because they have self esteem problems. Research has also shown that if a child's parents are aggressive at home, then these children tend to be bullies later on in there teenager years.
